No dipped headlights?

Hope someone can help? I have suddenly lost the dipped headlight on my honda gold wing 1800 2007. Fuses have been checked also the bulbs, all fine. Dealer has checked the reply and that seem ok. He now suggests a CUT wire somewhere! He has mentioned a strip down, which sounds drastic. Has anyone had this happen to themselvses? I just can not imagine just one wire getting cut in the harness.

If dipped means low beam...?? First thing i would is put a ''NEW'' bulb in... Thats the first place to start...:Shrug: Sometimes the filament looks good when it's not...

If I understand correctly ,the high beams work, but not the low beams. If neither work, pull out on the starter switch a little or spray it with some contact cleaner. There is a switch in the starter button that shuts off the lights when the starter is engaged.Sometimes it does not get contact, after the starter is released. This does not sound like your problem, but you might check it out.Other wise change bulbs before tearing it down. The low beam bulbs can be changed without taking anything a part.

I just got finished helping a friend take apart his Goldwing and ther are several places where a wire could get grounded but checking the bulb would be the first thing to check. If the bulb is good you should be able to check the wiring and see if you are getting current to the bulb socket with a test light. If you aren't then is when the hard part comes in and that is tracing back the wiring to see if there is a short. Hope this helps.

As rhino said check your bulbs , a couple of years ago I had both low beam bulbs burn out on the same day, since then I've found out this is not uncommon , but it's not good to find out at dark 250 miles from where you need to be.

Dipped - low beam not working.

You dip your head light beam! UK term. Main beam is the high beam!

Dealer checked the bulbs with a meter and they where OK. I have already done the starter thing and that doesn't work. High beam goes out when starter is used but the low beam , oh that sounds strange, still stays out.

Thanks for all the suggestions but it still seems as if it will be a hunt for a wire fault.

I will keep you informed at to how it goes.

This forum has some great folk.
