New to Trikes! Trailer to pickup 06 GW Trike and Escapade Elite trailer combo

I'm buying my first trike. Got rid of my FJR last year, the slight forward lean was messing with my joints. I missed my 1998 Valkyrie Tourer, easier riding position and stares of admiration ;-)

So I'm 99% committed to buying a 2006 Goldwing MotorTrike with an Escapade Elite trailer. Its about 400 miles away. I wanted to just fly in and ride out, but the logistics just aren't friendly. So I'm looking at a trailer option instead.

What I'm currently considering is a U-Haul 6x12 open trailer. If I get squished for room, I figure I can point the bike front wheel / trailer tongue toward middle of trailer toward each other. (I may have the bike dealer remove the trailer wheels and tongue, and slide the trailer body into my Honda Pilot cargo area)

What am I missing? Concerns, gotchas, suggestions?

Also, be aware that the 6x12 trailer that has a ramp only has an opening on rear of 57". Not sure what trike model you are getting but it might be kind of tight. Also the ramp is a bit steep so it may be difficult getting the trike in or out. Not sure if the 6x12 without a ramp is wider but then you would have to figure out a way of getting the trike in and out...

Welcome glad you joined us. Don't sound like enough trailer to me. Noway would I haul the TRIKE backwards. Maybe I misunderstood. They ain't made to ride that way.RIDE SAFE

Dimensions I have gathered:

2006 Goldwing with MotoTrike kit: Length 9.16ft Width 4.5ft

Escapade trailer (w/tongue) Length 8.08ft Width 3.3ft - 67" long w/o tongue

The folks who make the Escapade trailer told me the tongue removes easily with two bolts, and the wheels have 4 lug nuts.

Thanks for pointing out that the ramp is 57", very helpful. I rechecked the trike hips, that is 53.3". Gives a few inches clearance, Clarance ;-). So I switched my reservation to the trailer with the ramp.
