New to Trikes, not to Bikes

I have been a member for a while and read the newsletter every month but was reminded I ought to introduce myself. I have been riding since I was 13 but due to some health issue had become less capable of riding two up with my wife and she made the ultimatum, it's three wheels or nothing. I enjoy our rides together and after 43 years of marriage new she was serious. So the search began about three years ago and once we where past the sticker shock decided on a Honda/Lehman trike, bought it home, installed a 4.5 degree rake kit and haven't looked back. She now asks me to go riding and that has put all the fun back in it. She is very comfortable and I am still working on tweaking my seat but other than that we are truly enjoying riding again and have even made a few long distance weekend trips which in the passed would have never happened. All in all on of the best decision we have made for enjoying our spare time.

I enjoyed reading your post cause it's the same with my wife and myself...Four years ago we had a slight accident, where really, all we both had was a few scraps and bumps, BUT that turned her off on riding (passenger) the motorcycle ever since.......... I just brought the bike in to be triked last month (it's still in the shop) and she sounds like she will ride it again with me this spring..........Looking forward to that first ride...I know I'll have to practice riding/driving the new trike before I take on a passenger with confidence....Just hope it's really not to hard......
I never rode a trike before...........

Welcome from Wisconsin, I also switched to three because of wife being uncomfortable. After 1 riding season I can say it has been great, she has no hesitations about riding anywhere. Sometimes when I pull in the driveway after work she has the bike garage door open, and her gear on, and says she needs a little three wheel therapy. That's what it's all about. Stay safe!(Yes)

Fleecemaster, glad you started posting. Riding your 3-wheeler with so many years on 2 you'll become familiar in short order. Nothing difficult about handling threedom with . Easy on the throttle for a few hundred miles and you'll be good to go with complete confidence. Welcome from Illinois.
