Still researching, will do something in next 3-6 months, considering a kit for my Kawasaki Vulcan 900 or possibly going to a Spyder. Comments on the Lehman Storm (straight axle) vs. the MotorTrike Avenger (IRS) would be appreciated.

Thanks!

The straight axle vs IRS controvery used to be a big deal but most manufacturers are going to IRS. I have no experience with either kit but can tell you that the position of the axle relative to the passenger seat makes a big difference. If your passenger is directly above the axle, the ride will be harsh. Move it back and things isolate. No passenger? Makes no difference as the harshness will be transferred to you! Observe the position of the axle. Most folks now seem to agree that the IRS is a better set up in general. I have driven a Champion straight axle and the ride was outstanding and on the same bike model a Motor Trike and it was uncomfortable. (Both GL1800). Guess what I am saying is to look for a trike with the kit you are considering and see if the owner will let you test ride. The installer in your area may know of someone willing to let a prospective buyer test ride. Maybe a TrikeTalk member with the kit you are considering will be in your area?
