First trike and first post. Traded in my 07 FLHTCU for a new 2014 trike. I'm going to miss that 07 bike! New bike is the sand color. I added a CB, back rest and air wing luggage rack to emulate what I had on my bike. I don't even have 200 miles on the new trike yet but, it feels like it always wants to go in a straight line unless you input some control. I do miss the leaning part.

I'm with ya on the leaning part, Tenacious, I miss that too, as does the wife. But you won't have any trouble keeping up with the other HDs in the corners. Jap bikes might be another matter. We own a 2012 TG and you have a lot of nice options we don't, so know you'll enjoy them. Bet you like that 103" engine too! I sure did after getting off an 80".

Your post was 3 hours ago. I hope your out right now burnin up those miles. Enjoy those new 3 wheels and welcome to Trike Talk!

What part of the world are you from? We live in Ocala, Florida, 85 miles west of a little po-dump town called Daytona.

Thank you, Phu Cat. I live in North Central Colorado at the edge of the sand hills. I had lived in Florida back in the 80's on one of the islands between the beach and downtown Miami. I spent a lot of time on my bike there going down to the Keys for a weekend and back.
The 103" is a nice upgrade from the 96". With only +/- 200 miles on it so far it is a little stiff yet. The wife likes it and we hope to put some miles on it this weekend.

Welcome from Oregon. Know what you mean about the leaning but after about a 1000 miles, you won't miss it. I was very hesitant on trading my 2006 Ultra but like everyone said on the site, you will get over it and sure enough I like riding the trike. Just got back from a 2000 mile trip and was a great ride.

Welcome to TT and hope you enjoy your ride as much as I do mine.
Thre wheels are different but the wife sure likes the ride. Be Safe and Enjoy!!!
I'm in Seattle now but will be living in Strugis, S.D SOON

welcome from SC...know what you mean about leaning but take a 3-400 mile trip and get in some heavy traffic.while your buddies are struggling to inch along, you are sitting in a recliner. curves take some getting used to but go to a parking lot and do figure 8's. only had my 14 a week or so. enjoy

A big 3 wheel welcome.
You can still lean - I do it every now and then just to psych out the riders behind me. :D :D

I will have to try that and see if anyone notices.

Thank you all for the welcome. I have been monitoring this site for some time before I made the decision to go with the trike. I'm surprised by all the knowledge that has been so freely dispensed by the members.
Thank you to all the contributors!

Welcome from the gateway to the Great Smoky Mountain National Park! Been riding two wheelers for over 40 years and now the new Tri Glide for a couple of weeks. Not missing leaning at all. I'm even starting to feel sorry for all those people out there trying to hold up a big heavy bagger .

Each day, you're going to love it more and more!

Welcome! I'm one of those who doesn't miss the leaning. The Trike is so comfortable that when I was out riding the other day with the cruise control engaged I wondered if it is possible to fall asleep at the wheel.

I just traded my 2010 Limited on a 15 Tri Glide a month ago and I thought the same thing as you.

I can tell you the more you ride the easier it gets and you will like it more with each ride.

The wife loves it, but looks like we will have to wait to next spring to get more miles in it was 32 today in southern Indiana

Have fun

Welcome - glad you found us. You'll get used to your new ride in no time at all. Couple hundred miles you'll be comfortable, couple thousand - you'll be an "expert". Have fun, post often, ride safe! ThumbUp
