Hello group! I currently have a 2010 Triglide Ultra, and I am ready to upgrade to a newer Harley with a cooling system. I live in the city (unfortunately) and I am tired of getting my leg charred every time I get in traffic! I am looking for recommendations, comments, experiences with 2020 and newer Harley trikes.

Not convinced with the new Road Glide trike, not a fan of the fairing. So I started reading about the new models and not sure if a brand new 2024 is better than a 2022... Still doing my research before I walk into a hungry sales person who would tell me anything to make a sale... Let me know your thoughts. Thank you!

Yan… welcome to Trike Talk👍👍… and as far as the heat goes, especially in the city it’s all relative even the new Harleys throw out too much heat..but there are remedies just look at some of the posts and you’ll figure it out!…

Hello Yan, welcome to the forums. Yep, our HD trikes throw out some heat, I have the Love jugs fans installed because of living in the extreme heat down here in Florida during the summer, wouldn't be without them for sure. DK Customs, who is a sponsor here has a few things to help with the heat but being in a lot of traffic is tough.

Hey Yan ! Welcome to Trike Talk! I’m riding a 21 TriGlide Ultra and there aren’t from what I’ve seen many differences in the later TriGlude Ultras. Before buying I rode 19s and 18s and found the 21 rode much better so I bought new. I also bought a ESP plan and am glad I did as I’ve had a few mechanical breakdowns in the 31 k miles I’ve ridden.

If you buy new you get a 2 year factory warranty.
As for the heat I’ve done a lot to dissipate it -Khrome Werks slip ons, DK 606 air cleaner with EBS, DK floorboard extensions, DK custom cooling wings, DK deluxe 1.5 tank lift , mighty mite cooling fans.

Then once out of warranty changed head pipe and complete Stage 2 and tuned with PowerVision. I also used DEI heat shield insulation The cooling wings , floorboard extensions and tank lift made a big difference, then the mighty mites helped more . Now with all I’ve done it barely heats up to uncomfortable ever.

Good luck - test rides are free!!

Thank you for all that information. Ive done a lot to my 2010 - love jugs, oil cooling fan, stage 2, but it seems like no matter what I do it gets super hot. Looks like even on a new bike I will have to do/add things to it... typical Harley - always a money pit.
Is the steering any better on a 2021?
Again, thank you for your comment.

Yan , I did the Legends Lift kit at my 1k service and it made it steer much easier. Added 12 inch KST mayhem bars soon after and eliminated what I felt was the “hunched over” position of the stock bars . Much more comfortable!!! Added Legends shocks all around and a hammock seat and I’m good to go…. I’ve done 1k miles in a day and been happy!

What does the tank lift does? Does it make a difference in the heat situation?

For what I see, even with a newer bike, I will have to add bunch of stuff to keep it running cool(er). I have a very pretty bike, my 2010 Lady Blue Triglide Ultra. I have not seen anything newer that excites me to drop another 30K (more) for a ride that will still need upgrades. This is very annoying. I just want to be able to get on my bike and ride somewhere without worrying of overheating of something breaking down - how hard could that be?! Just getting frustrated here. I attempted to change my transmission oil last Sunday but one of the screws on the derby cover was impossible to remove - I even asked my neighbor to give me a hand and the thing would not bulge! So now I will have to take to a mechanic to probably drill the damn thing out when it should have not been that tight to begin with! Sorry for the rant, just not having a lot of luck with my Lady Blue these days.

Challenges are learning opportunities. I’ve seen those come out with an impact type driver. Drilling is last resort.
Part of my journey is adding the things that make my ride happier. Part of what Harley is doing is setting riders/ bikes up so owners will/ can accessorize to “ make it their own “
It sucks when they don’t run right or break but I love it when I’m on the road………
This to Shall Pass😎
