I had a 05 GW with Champion solid axle. I wanted a new bike after retiring so bought a new 2012 GW and rode it almost a year until I went down and broke a couple of ribs. After the insurance had it repaired I had the dealer convert it to a Motortrike IRS kit and so far I love it.
I especially like the larger trunk opening compared to Champion and I think the IRS system rides a lot better. Also, the handlebar shake I used to get on the Champion equipped trike is non-existent in the Motortrike equipped trike. Both have rake kits.
Kit went on at 7850 miles and presently has just under 10,000 miles with 900 of that riding it back from Knoxville.
