Deadwood
Hi everyone. This looks to be an awesome site and I am really glad I came across it. I live in the Black Hills of South Dakota so if you ever need some info on great rides, places to stay, etc. please let me know.

Re: New fomr South Dakota

Welcome from your next door neighbor in Casper, Wyoming.
I lived in Newcastle for many years so know the hills very well.
We are not so far apart we cant get together for a ride.

How's Deadwood these days?
I still recall some really good times there before the gambling craze began.

Is trevinos leather still around? Lee made some damn fine leather goods and I still wear the chaps he made me 30 yrs. ago.

I still ride the 1989 tour glide ultra I bought from Black hills Harley Davidson 25 yrs. ago.
I converted it myself in the winter of 2013

Hey neighbor. Deadwood is doing great. I was just out to Trevinos Leather's last Friday. His son Eli is doing a great job taking care of his dad's business and they still have some amazing things there. I love your bike conversion! My husband rides and wants me to do the same but I am not much for sitting on the back of someone else's bike...restless leg syndrome!

Anyway today I am going to look at a Motor Trike conversion kit at Outdoor MotorSports. I have a Yamaha sitting in my garage that could easily be converted for now until I save up for something like a Spyder.

Welcome to TT from Seattle.
I mined at Homestake for many, many years and plan on being back there for good very soon.
Ride safe and enjoy the forum and the great people here.

Ken

Thanks Ken. South Dakota is certainly a beautiful place to come back too..a bit cold but great people and great places to ride. Are you coming back for the Sturgis Rally. There is also a new trike rally in Deadwood in 2015...I am the organizer so if you are interested in some info let me know.

What is the size and model of your Yamaha? Any pictures?
Im still looking for something to do this winter.
For pictures of my conversion Google-pcombe library/photobucket

I used to climb on my scoot and run over to Deadwood for nothing more than the ride through the northern hills and to get a beer and a shrimp cocktail.
I have been there after gambling came in and had some good times also the Chinese food over Kevin Costner's place was hard to beat!
Cant remember the name, seems it was midnight star or some such?

I pretty much stopped going to Sturgis, it just isn't as fun as it used be, To much law enforcement, Everyone should go to the zoo once a year but I no longer feel the need to sleep with the animals I Guess?
Newcastle being 60 miles away it was easy to do day trips from home.

I haven't been back to Sturgis for about ten years now.
It seems the last time I went if it wasn't the same half naked girls I had seen over 30 years ago they must have sent their mothers in their place?:p

dad and chelsea in sturgis.jpg The upper photo was main street Sturgis, I think these photos were from the 80'S?
