Hey guys and gals.

I need some quick opinions and a little advise.

Looking at this trike

It is a 2008 model with a Hannigan kit but really does not have a lot of extras, I had thought all the newer 1800's came stock with heat and Nav. but this one he says just has Premium sound only. What does that mean exactly and how do I add and how much will it cost to add the other features?

It is a fire sale and I think 27k cash with get it and a matching trailer and the rig has less than 5,000 miles on it.

You can not add the extra options.
If you want Comfort, Nav or ABS, find one that has it.

Premium sound is the Goldwing base bike.

Well shoot fire there Mikey boy, ifn yer gonna go out lookin for one whuts got the dodads yer wantn already on it, whilst yer at it you best be agettin one whuts got differnt letters after that big H in the name!

Personally, I wouldn't worry about the heated seat and grips or the Nav system. The nav system Honda uses for the GW is not user friendly, near impossible to update, and not flexible for route planning. I would say get an aftermarket GPS you can mount on a Ram mount on the bars. As for the heated stuff, you can get that aftermarket too - and since most folks end up changing the seat anyway, you can do it in one swipe. Heated grips are available as well.

At least, that's my opinion.

Heated seats and grips are not a really big issue in south Georgia most of the mie as well.
I would love a sound system with a usb port to accept a memory stick with all my tunes on it but I guess I can take along the MP3 player, and we have a small garmin already.

As far as the actual trike, kit and trailer I do not see many of them on this site, are they a red headed step child? middle of the road or a top kit?

Hi i think this is the best kit on the market for the goldwing --its longer and wider than the others --the ride is great --if i were going to buy another trike and i wanted a goldwing i would buy a hannigan --as far as the other stuff the nav sys on the goldwing stinks buy a aftermarket you can update ---- this is a great trike ---the hannigan is the most expensive on the market for a reason and they sell alot of them --i think you would be very happy you bought a hannigan

After doing a little rearch at KBB can I assume this is a GL18P and does not have ABS since KBB shows ABS packaged with NAV and or Heated seats.

If so how important is ABS on a trike conversion/ big bike?

All of these Things, get to be personal opinion driven. I waaaaaay prefer my ZUMO GPS over Honda's Stock Unit, Love Linked Brakes, but not ABS, IRS Rears over Rigid Axles, Almost never listen to a Radio, Have finally acquired a Taste for Heated Grips/Seat (Tennessee Winter was really bad this year...)....I tend to lean more toward "Better Handling Farkles" than Luxury or Chrome......OK, "NEXT PERSONAL OPINIONS"..... ThumbUp

Just a cost comparison for your info. I bought the '05 base model with a CSC conversion and trailer last november with 11k miles and a HD trailer for $23. I looked around some and thought I did pretty good on price. Yours is 3 years newer, less miles, Hannigan kit, --sounds like a nice deal.

Im not sure but i know when i had my wing triked in 03 by champion they could not hook up the abs some might use it now but the rear brakes on a trike are great --stop faster than a 2 wheeler --this is a good deal with trailer --hannigan kit is 13000 to 15000 installed--- that being said your only payin 8000 to 10000 for a 2008 goldwing with 5000 miles --its a great price !!!! and getin a free trailer !!!!

I made an offer and I am waiting on an answer.

KBB trade in is 12k on the bike and KBB retail is 16k.

Generaly 1/2 way between is a good person to person number but in todays economy I see lots of things selling for closer to trade in or even less.

I figgured (and could be wrong) the kit installed and trailer was 15k and 75% of that is most likely a good fair used price and in the ballpark.15,000 x 75% = $11,250 + 12-14 for the for the bike = 23,250-25,250 for the package.
Am I off base with these numbers?

BTY, here is the trailer.

Trailer is worth 3,000 A gold wing trike like you are talking about is 22,000 .If it were me I would wine and cry about it not having ABS or NAV and get the price down around $25,000

John is right that trailer is worth used 3000 --and if you can get both for 25000 its a steal in my book --if you bought just the bike as a 2 wheeler and paid 14000 put on the hann kit around 13000 or more thats 27000 w/o trailer --no brainer !!!!thats one of the best trailers on the market today !!!!dont let it slip thru your fingers !!!!

Boat sailed without me.
The seller had already been talking to someone for a couple of weeks and he arrived before me.
The rig was 1,000 miles from me so I was having to make some long distance arrangments in the mix too.

I have my eye on a CSC at the moment so a gold wing may still be in our near future. Going to enjoy the Ultra sidecar till that happens.

Thanks for the imput folks.
