It's raining so hard out here, And Just to be on the safe side, Doe's anyone out there know how to build an Ark... ???
Type of wood and dimensions would be helpful. Not taken any animal's' Just Two of each from Hooters.. So it doesn't have to be too big...
Thanks in Advance...ThumbUp

Well, if you do it by the book, it has to be made of Gopher wood (good luck with that), then smear it with tar inside and out. Noah's was 3 decks high but you could probably get by with one.

The original ark was 450 feet long, 50 feet wide, and 30 feet high. That's only about 70,000 square feet, not even a decent big box store size. Guess you could downsize it proportionately.

(Only way you could get millions of every animal and plant in that small a space would be DNA samples in test tubes.)

Oh, well, good luck with your project. We'll all be riding on the road while you're still in the barn working on your ark.

My advice would be to not overload your ark and stick to the "Kinds" as selected by Noah rather than individual species. Since you are going with the Hooters kind you could safely go with three, big'uns, handful, and mouthful. Enjoy! :D

If I build it in my barn I won't be able to get it out the barn door, If I build it out side I'll get wet.. And if I wait till it stops raining I won't need the Ark...:Shrug:

Make sure you get permits. oh and you will ha ve to have a master boatbuilders license, schedule sea trials and prove to EPA that materials you use are ecofriendly.

I found the Gopher wood that jaxbobg spoke of, But it's not available at the moment it
Seems that The NSA bought every stick they could find to make Caisson's to hold all the rounds of ammo they been stockpiling..... Might have to use Jack Pine instead.. :Shrug:
I was thinking of using Plywood, But being its New Jersey's state tree, I don't want to get in trouble cutting them down...

Wow!! I see that you live in New Jersey, but the Jack Pine is mostly found in northern Michigan and Minnesota.

Okay, I'll give you this: It is possible that "gopher" refers to a PROCESS or METHOD used to prepare the wood or to construct the ark. Who knows?

I belong to a hunting club, [Member owners] Just north of the Jersey line in NY 1,300 ac'
And there's a good amount of Jack Pine on the property .... :Shrug:

I think the name Gopher Wood was a misunderstanding...
Noah had asked his Wife to ''Go for wood'', And She thought he said;
Gopher Wood...I can see that happening, I can't tell you how many times my Wife misunderstands me...
