Need a little fire wood???

I couldn't figure out how to attach the pics to a thread, so I'll do it this way! About a month ago, Before they close the Soo Locks in Sault Ste. Marie Michigan for the winter, The Coast Guard was breaking ice (and docks and hoists) to allow the remaining lake freighters to go either "upbound" or "downbound" to their winter berthing. While doing this, the cutter pushed a floating log up onto the ice AND up/into my boat hoist! We measured it at approx. 91ft. long!! A friend of mine went out on the ice to cut up the tree to relieve some of the strain on my hoist. When we came back in the morning, the wood was gone! Even the saw dust was gone! Guess someone really wanted the wood!! I along with a bunch of other dock owners filed a claim with The Coast Guard for damages to our equipment. We'll see what happens!SEE ABOVE

someone was desperate for wood, that would have been quite a mission to move, even cut into sections. still pretty rude though when its done damage to your property, and youve already been cutting it up.

REALLY REALLY BIG BEAVERS!!!! I bet if you look in the St. Lawrence Seaway, you may find it there...
I'm just sayin'!!!!

I know the Current is Strong there, maybe it broke up overnite and drifted down-river !? it's probably by my place near Groose Isle ! :xzqxz:

That NEVER crossed my mind! Don't know why I didn't think of that!!!
:)

I'd say Grosse isle by now, maybe not with all the ice jambs in the river and Lake St. Clair!
