Don't know how everyone else did. But my tent that I use to cover the trike blew off and we had almost knee-deep water in the back yard and it was getting deeper alongside the trike. I had to TRY and move the trike slightly higher. Thank goodness it stopped when it did......

By all accounts, this storm is moving so slowly that EVERYWHERE it goes it will leave this kind of potential behind. NOT good! Glad it has stopped for you.

I see the lawnmower is ready for action:D, glad to see you didn't get hammered any worse.

Had JUST finished mowing a couple of hours before this hit. Put off cleaning the mower and then THIS hit....guess the mower got a good cleaning anyway!!!!!

Your correct in about 100 years my town should be under water from what they say. We have the ocean come up to the middle of town as a river now, but it will rise to cover everything and my house should be ocean front because it sits on a hill.
No more NYC, Newport, Boston or DC, WOW, just like the movie Waterworld!
Hope you are some what back to normal in your area.

Finally drying out now. Although we now have B-52 Bombers for mosquitoes. Looks like I'll be spreading some lime around again soon.

I am down in Suffolk and it has been the same. Rain almost every day and lots of it. Does the lime work for mosquitoes? I have a farm and lots of standing water. Don't want to put mosquito dunks because of the horses.

Well, the last time I applied the lime the mosquito population seemed to drop off. It had absolutely no ill effects on our two dogs or the feral cats in the neighborhood. Only took the bug population WAY down.

They have been spraying in Mass. & NH because the mosquitos have EEE and have infected some people and horses. Not good!
The last case was about 30 miles from here, but it is still too close.
How is your bat population, ours are dying from white nose virus and the bugs are taking over. A few years ago when the bats were flying, the mosquitos and other bugs were way down, but now that the bats are dying off, the mosquitos are starting to take over.
Good luck!

Haven't seen any bats around here. But then, honestly, I wouldn't have any idea what to look for.

All I know is the skeeters are VERY hungry!!!!! They have been known to carry off small children. Well, that's what we tell the kids to keep them close to home on the evening......
