Hey guys Jimmy has the poll for next week's Daytona 5oo yeah granted there was a major wreck and rain he wrecked Menard to win it .good luck Jimmy. :clapping:.

JJ is not on the pole for next week's Daytona 500. William Bryon (24) is and Alex Bowman (88) is 2nd. JJ's starting position will be determined next Thursday in the "Daytona Duels".

  • Thanks
Reactions: MDO
The wreak was caused mostly by Menard! JJ was passing. trying to side draft off Menard's fender. Menard moved slightly down to block JJ. They touched and another Superspeedway "mess" began.

Lot of good machines totaled.

BTW Daytona 500 field is set by;

  • Position 1 and 2 are the pole sitter and outside pole sitter from qualifying day. These two positions are based solely on qualifying speed. They do not need to be top 35 in owner's points during the previous season.
  • Positions 3 - 39 are filled by the top 35 in the previous season car owner's points and the two highest finishing teams in each Gatorade Duel race that are not in the top 35.
  • Positions 40 - 42 are filled with the next fastest qualifiers -- these positions are not based on the results of the Gatorade Duels.
  • Position 43 is reserved for the most recent past champion that, for whatever reason, was unable to qualify (if applicable); otherwise the spot goes to the next fastest qualifier.

This is confusion Jimmy won on Sat now his starting 17 on Sunday what the heel two wrecks in a few days way to go jimmy.:xzqxz:

The finish in the Clash (held last Saturday) has nothing to do with the line up for the 500.

Note:The Clash field is comprised of drivers who were 2018 Busch Pole Award winners, former Clash winners who competed full-time in 2018, former Daytona 500 winners who competed full-time in 2018, former Daytona 500 pole winners who competed full-time in 2018 and drivers who qualified for the 2018 Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series Playoffs.

Hope this helps.

Doing good Diane , I fell asleep early last night , so I’ll hit the reruns. Paul Minard #21 seems to be in the spotlight.
