Mustang Riders Backrest

This may sound stupid, but when you get to your destination and park your trike, what do you do with your Mustang Riders Backrest since it doesn't seem to fasten into the seat. Anybody can come along and away goes your riders backrest. Am I missing something here?

Same thing with a Corbin. I generally toss mine in the trunk....

I just leave it where it is. I also put my helmet on my seat. Maybe I am to trusting, but my seat is 13 years old now and no one has taken the backrest yet
