Looking at a Handy electric lift for sale and it says that the load weight is 1000 pounds. My trike is about 1050 pounds. I wonder if they add a buffer on this weight limit?

I wouldn't trust it, we use the Handy BOB 1500 with trike wings and I've had that sucker rocking pretty good a time or two while working on a trike.

Should not be a problem. Usually designers have to use a 2 to 1 factor of safety when human life is involved. Ergo, it should handle 2000 #'s before failing.

There was a member over at HDforums who had the table on a 1,000 lb rated handy buckle when he lifted his trike. This day and age it is a big roll of the dice that there will be a 2 to 1 safety factor.

I also had the 1000# Handy buckle under my TG, the HD dealer here thought they would get away with not getting the BOB 1500# "wrong", at the time I was the only TG in town so they wanted to get by with what they had. Don't try it.
