Motor Trike new Sportster kit

I converted my 2007 Sportster 883L last year with the Roadsmith kit. I am very happy. 1st thing we had to do was bump it up to a 1200. The Roadsmith offered independent suspension and the electric reverse. I would not buy a conv. without. We also like the Roadsmith because it is easy to install and they offer great customer support. My kit weighted 750lbs. I kept my original tank and get only 90 miles to a tank full.

Keep these things in mind.

1. Start with 1200cc
2. Change out the gas tank
3. Get the reverse
4. Consider the independent suspension.
5. Remember that the cost of the kit does not include the paint job.
6. You will need to rake the front end.
7. Take a Trike Safety class (there is a free 1 at Americade 2010)

Hi Guy's I have a 09 xl1200L with a Motor Trike GTX Kit. I got it last Sept. We like it a lot. The only thing is,It's a heavy kit. Riding 1 up its good 2 up is good. But 2 up you need to use the clutch on take off just a little more. The ride is supper and corners supper. It is a very safe trike and thats why I got it. You dont have to rake it put you can. The rake will make it corner easier. I dident rake mine but I am exstending my fork legs 1.5 " and I use heavy duty springs for the extra weight. You only have 4" of travel on the xl1200l plus some preload sag. When I get the new forks in I will let you know how it does. I would not rake over 3* and I would lingthen the forks 1.5" to 2"
