"Luggage" rack on GL1500

I'm considering putting a kuraykin luggage rack on my "97 goldwing. Has anyone had any problems with these leaking or possibly cracking the compartment cover? Approximately how much weight can you carry on them?

I'm considering putting a kuraykin luggage rack on my "97 goldwing. Has anyone had any problems with these leaking or possibly cracking the compartment cover? Approximately how much weight can you carry on them?

I have a rack on my 1500 - not meant to carry much weight, maybe 10 lbs or so. If washers don't come with the rack, be sure to use something like THIS as it helps distribute the weight, prevent cracking and the rubber base reduces the chance of leaks. Overall, it ads to the "look", but in practice, I don't really use it much except as a place to mount my (small) flag poles.
