For those of you with MotorTrikes on the GoldWing 1800, what amount of torque are you using on your rear wheel lug nuts?

The owners manual for the Adventure kit says 85 Ft. Lbs. I spoke to someone at Motor Trike; it seems they have the owners manuals for their independant kits available for download on their site. She said on the main site if you click on the owners corner you can download, view, and print them. Hope this helps also!!

</div>The Motortrike Service Manual is also on this Trike Talk Forum as a Sticky <a href="http://www.triketalk.com/forum/honda-trikes-8/motor-trike-service-manual-finished-315/" target="_blank">http://www.triketalk.com/forum/honda...-finished-315/</a>

I use the rule of thumb for automobiles and use 100 ft. lbs.. May be a little tight compared to manual but the lugs will take it because they are the same as found on an automobile. Being an Engineer, I tend to push things a little further to assure absolute safety when it involves my wife's and my butt.

i think the wheel mfg issues the torque spec and that is wht i use,, 70-75 for champion.

my shop installer used 150ft lbs and cracked a wheel on the org install

Some here need to figure it out, to much torque on the lug nuts will warp the rotors. This is probably not a problem for drum brakes but is a problem for disk brakes. Something to think about folks.
