Lookin to learn

Hello everyone... I am new to Trikes, my Bike knowledge is limited but growing... I am still deciding what Bike to use for a base donor... I have a background in 1/4 mile race cars and classic hot rods. I have some ideas for designs, that I will be reviewing with what information I can find in this Forum.

I have a VERY limited budget, but it's amazing what I can save up... I am fortunate that I live in a place where there a MANY used bikes for sale for prices I can realistically set a goal to achieve.

Because of insurance costs involved, I have to work under 751cc's so a 750 is fine, I have checked all the local rules and regulations through our insurance corporation as well as DOT, so have at least their word on what is necessary to ride a trike here.

Many things to consider in my use and design yet, so I am glad to be here and will be reading lots and asking lots. Cheers everyone !

WELCOME to TRIKE TALK....GOOD LUCK on Your Project Choice...You're definitely at the right place for "Trike Knowledge".....ThumbUp

Cheers, and thanks for the welcome...

@VW Driver... Since I gave my car to my Brother, I will be making the Trike my primary transportation besides my mobility scooter... which means I will be riding year round, no fair-weather riding here, hahaha... fortunately I am in a place that has the mildest climate in Canada. We even had some snow in 2012... never sticks around long though, and we don't get those nasty cold temps.

I was going to start the project this spring... but am still in the middle of a sculpture, so am now going to hold off till fall or winter to start... :GL1800:

That should give you plenty of time to explore the options of a trike build. We get the same weather, I'm about 130 miles south of Victoria. I used to ride all year round when I was much younger but now if it ain't warm and dry I don't get the trike out.:laugh:

Welcome to TT from your fellow Texas members!!! We are looking forward to pictures as you build. There are several members who have or are in the process of building their trikes so hopefully y'all can get together. Should be fun!!

There is a gob of experience here and our members are always willing to share. We hope you also pass on your stories and knowledge. TrikeTalk is by far the best trike focused bulletin board and you’ll find the members and admin folks the friendliest there are.

When you get settled in, check out Trike Owners International, T.O.I., you may find it a good fit.

Again, WELCOME !!! :xszpv::xszpv:

Hello Soulman and welcome to the website from the U.P. of Michigan. Just about any type of trike you would like to discuss, someone on this site has used it. So if you have questions about any trike conversion check with the people that have used them and can give you a sincere report. Ride safe.
