Loading onto a trailer

The ground clearance on my CSC trike, with the ground affects, is a liitle over 4 inches. Not sure if they hang lower than the bike frame - it looks close.

In any case , do you have trouble with the bottom dragging when loading onto a trailer??

I use a utility trailer with a 4' gate and my harley dragged a little if I didn't raise the front of the trailer. With the longer wheel base on the trike, this seems it will be a problem.

Find a nice ditch somewhere to load it??

I've got airbags on my trike so I just inflate them to 60 pounds and I have plenty of room to drive up the ramp.

A ditch sounds good but you got to have one on the other end too!

I use 2X8 boards about 3 feet long for the back wheels placed under the ramp for this situation. It makes for a bigger bump to get over for the front tire, but works great. Maybe some day I will find a 2X4 to put down for the front :)

Sounds like a good idea - that little bit of lift could make a big difference.
thanks for your input. the extra board for front would also help stabilize the ramp

You beat me to the best answer. I just used 2x4's yesterday for the 1st time loading and unloading Tri-Glide to drop off at dealer (5 month 10,000 mile service) and it worked like a charm.

2x4's are OK for loading in a small trailer. Please do not use a 2x4 in the rear if you are loading it in a toy hauler and want the 2x4's to raise the rear end when loading. A friend of mine while I was watching loaded his Hanigan trike into the toy hauler and the 3 peices of 2x4 on each side snapped back into his tupperware. He had a 1900 bill which was paid for by insurance, but he was without his trike for over a month.
