I bought a set of water proof amber led strips I want to mount them under my "runningboards" to light up the road and well, make me alittle more visible. I like the idea of mounting them under the boards as they are out of the way. But is it illegal?? some say it is others tell me as long as they are amber or red its ok...I am confused..

THanks, Steve W.

Since he is from Wisconsin, I would think that is most likely the state he is concerned with. Consider looking up the dept of transportation laws in your state.

opps wildbill wisconsin here yeah I guess i should just contact the local dmv....BTW wildbill ASWOME looking stallion there!

As for NY state and most others no forward facing red lens on the front unless for parade use and then it must be covered. Amber can be used front side or rear as much as you want and red in the rear just check out the 18 wheelers.
