Looking at ride ideas for next summer.
This would be an easy ride over and
maybe spending a couple of days there.

Anyone been for a ride there?

Would it be worth the ride over?

Thanks in advance

I have a friend there and he took us on the most wonderful road trip. Saw a lot of water and lock and dams. I cut the trip short cause I had to move onto Jackson, Mo. to visit an Air Force buddy. I am going back this year.

Ride safe

Pat

If you could shoot me a PM with what roads you went on,
I would love to see where you went.
Right now, we are suffering from cold weather blues :gah:

We went there last year, took a paddle boat ride, nice old time shopping. Good rides in the area and then on to Lebanon Mo. to Sheppard Hills Cutlery and to a very nice Catfish restaurant, Dowds Catfish and BBQ and then on to Branson.

had the mo state hog rally there a couple of years ago. rode over the bagnell dam. the only bad part of the rally was the location of the resort. it was built on the side of a mountain .( well, that's what mo. calls a mountain.) every where was up or down a steep slope. pretty country to ride in.just don't want to walk anywhere

I live about 40 miles away by Fort Leonard Wood. The Lake area is a very Biker friendly area and nearly any road you take is good riding. Seems several different bike groups come here every year.

Nice area and very biker friendly. We have our RV there and go about every other weekend. Try route 5, 7 and 42 and try to loop the lake. Nice drives. Small friendly towns. Just south is Ha Ha Tonka State park. Go to the mansion that was built and burnt down. Must of been a beautiful place in its day. I go to Dowds for the catfish in Lebanon but for BBQ I think Wablly Boots in Osage Beach is the best in that area. Bennett Springs is a pretty trout park and a nice ride as well. It's west of Lebanon.

I live about 45 minutes from Osage Beach. There's plenty of beautiful country all around the Lake, and no shortage of stuff to see and do. Plenty of good restaurants and lodging, too, if you decide to take a couple days and just knock around. Also, several biker events throughout the season. Can't go wrong.

lived here for 40 years, seen lots of changes. we have lots of good riding for miles around. I take the dowds catfish house in lebanon with a grain of salt of course i catch and cook my own fish so the over battered fish at dowds is not what I would recommend, you can get just as good anywhere across the good old usa. Our folks are friendly and most the eats are good to great. JD passed away last nov so USA cycle in camdenton so no more good bs sessions will be happening there. So come for good riding and good peolpe you will have a gret time.

Check with Lake Ozark HD in Osage Beach, they have mapped out routes for bikers in our area. Have lived here for over 22 years and most routes are great. Check out the Lake Ozark Bike Rally.

I live a couples hours south in Mountain Home Arkansas, with more than 40,000 miles of back road riding here. google M/H and blow it up until you get Springfield MO and Little Rock Ar in the screen. You will find very few expressways or big highways. Most of the roads a 2 lanes with very few passing lanes . You will travel at speeds between 35 -50 so think about time more than miles. Expect to travel 35-40 miles in a hour.
GET gas before you need it, a lot of small towns are gone.
On the back roads around here it
standard to wave at everybody, thro ladies drives seldom do. Even people working on the lawns wave. WAVE at all police, THEY will be your first responder if something goes wrong.
Dangers.... deer and buzzards. Buzzards are about a 40 pounds bird and do not like to leave their road kill and can be may as many as 3-5 on the road.
Farm tractors.... they come out of fields on to the road with big scary things hanging on the back. Very few stop at the end of their fields before getting on the road.
If you fish M/H has 2 lakes and 2 rivers that are all named as some of the best in the U.S.
I can go on so if anybody has any questions please contact me
