Kuryakyn 3145 license frame

I know it is a bit off the trike topic but I am looking at redoing the license plate frame on my chopper and am looking at the Kuryakyn 3145 curved Tri Light license plate frame

Has anyone used one of these? I need to know how the back is finished as no pictures i can find show the back. I am worried specifically about the section behind the tri-light and want to know if it is a finished chromed product as in my application the back of the light would be visible.

I have attached a few pics of my actual set up and as you can see a lay down curved plate would be a lot moire appropriate

Check with your local DMV or vehicle inspection station, as some states here in the US have outlawed the sideways mounted plate.
Yours doesn't look bad IMO. FWIW, I wouldn't change it if it were mine...

I am not looking to put it on the side. i want to replace what is there but with a curved frame that lays down a bit more.

I contacted Kuryakn and they told me that the back is finished but they do not have any pictures of the back so before shelling out $$$$ I want to be sure and my local dealers here have nothing is stock that I can look at
thanks

Look at the mounting instructions for this frame. There is a rear view, showing how the mounting gasket is positioned. It gives a little indication as to what the back looks like.

Thanks. I checked the instructions. i even communicated with Kuryakyn technical services and they told me that they did not have any pictures of the back but they said it was finished so to speak but I was hoping someone had installed one of these and maybe had some pictures
happy Thanksgiving

Well I finally got an answer to my question about this particular frame. I got hold of a technician at Kuryakyn who had seen the back of one of these and the back of the lamp section is chromed however it was not milled and polished before chroming so apparently it is quite rough so that pretty well eliminates my idea for using this particular frame.

Time to custom build one to your specifications I'd say.
Yup you are right. I have decided to go with the simple curved laydown bracket with the license light built in the frame and convert my flashers to run/stop/flash and then I will add a Radiantz s sidefire zflex under the plate for additional run/stop as the law here requires a tailight over the center of the tire
