It has been an unusually cool and dreary winter in these parts, but the sun's a shinin'; low-60s promised by the weather guy and the better half says we need a loaf of bread. I VOLUNTEER!!!:GL1800:

Well today in beautiful SE Missouri it's 30 degrees out and at least the sun is shining. I might get the trike out and take it around town... wait a minute I must be dreaming, ok it's 30 degrees out and the wind is blowing a little and the trike is staying in the shop! The weatherman said it is going to be in the high 40's lower 50's tomorrow so maybe I will get a ride in.

Did some camping at the Johnson Shut Ins about 18 months ago. Had a great time... Are you near the Ozarks?

I think many of us will get just about enough ride in to keep us sane until next month. I sure hope so

South Carolina offers many months of good riding, as I recall. Wife and I were stationed in Charleston many eons ago and got married at the air base. Brother retired from BMW in Greenville and still lives there. We seriously considered SC when we were narrowing our retirement options. Nice country for sure...

Felt like a January Thaw today. Temp was all the way up at 29'F when I rode to the office this morning.

I had to ride to the DMV this morning about 17 miles round trip.. So I figured i'll try out the new heated jacket I got at Cabelas last night [7v battery pack] But the temp was 25 degrees so not cold enough to really give it a good test.. It did throw off a lot of heat, So it might work for short trips..

Rode January 1 when it was 29 degrees; but today suns out and 34 degrees and the streets around my neighborhood are still a sheet of ice, so no ridin today.

Give some details on the jacket if you don't mind.

It's called ;Cabelas Heated Performance Jacket.. Powered by Gerbing...
Comes with a 7v Li-ion battery about the size of a pack of cigarettes that fits in the pocket.. Price 249.99 on sale for 149.99, Plus a 50 dollar credit to spend on the next purchase.. But that's not why I bought it.. I do a lot of short rides and its pain getting off with my first gear heated jacket' And then forgetting to unplug it!!
Right now its too new for me to say , Good or bad..

SC is a great place with diverse riding with beaches and mountains separated by 250 miles . Today there is a great Carolina Blue sky at 60* Last week was gray and gloomy and 7* Hopefully spring comes soon.

Of course some of that good Texas BBQ would be good.

Got up to 40 today with the sun shining so I went and picked up the trike from the Honda dealer where I had new Springs in the forks and a new Avon Trike tire on was a great ride home :pepper:

I always thought the ground had to freeze before you could have a January thaw. Didn't know it did that in Texas. :D

They have that problem in north Texas. The ground doesn't freeze here in the south central part of the state, but we get some chilly temps through February. Heck, we gotta complain about something!
