If you intend to change your own cam your gonna have to rotate your right wheel to get TDC. Spark plugs out on left side and transmission in 6th gear. Rotate- but pushrods don't move up and down? Left wheel must be on ground and right jacked up. The HD "differential" is the culprit. A search of U-Toob and the like yields little on trike rotation of the rear wheel. Find TDC and overlap on rear lifters then cut the pushrods out of the front cylinder. Then do the same for the rear. Removing cam chest cover gets a good visual on what's happening before you cut. Don't forget to replace the inner cam bearing and check runnout( Feuling sells a gauge for this and so does Darkhorse.) You can also put a pencil in each cylinder and watch them rise and fall. Or use your old ladies toothbrush and whittle it down. She won't mind.

I Always take the extra time pull the gas tank pull the water lines & pull the rocker boxes. And not have to worry about adjustable push rods not adjusted right or coming loose.

I would tend to agree.Soild pushrods, and Hylift Johnson lifters from Larry's Cycle and Machine are a dependable combination. But..oh look my pushrods are cut and lying on the garage floor. So sad. Maybe next winter along with some rocker/ headwork.
