Well, the H-D Open House this year was a disappointment. If you went to York Pa this weekend (Saturday, as I did) it was evident that the "the bloom is off the rose."

As I remember, (2011? 2012?) there were a couple of large area dealership tents chock-full of end-of-year motor clothes, jewelry, and all the usual high markup stuff.

This weekend, there was only 1 medium-size dealer tent (1st Capital H-D, which replaced the old Laughman (sp?) H-D) and it was pretty empty. The parking lots were mostly full, but not over-filled. Even the motorcycle-only parking area wasn't full to capacity.

I demo-rode a Tri-Glide (yes I already own a Freewheeler.) The wait for a Road Glide Ultra demo-ride was almost 2 hours, so I passed on that. The trikes, various Sportsters, and the touring bikes had lines of riders waiting to try them. But a Street 750 sat there like an orphan, even when the H-D staff tried to tell us that "It'll surprise you with the performance of a 750."

While I was waiting my turn on a Tri-Glide, I watched newbies trying to negotiate the orange pylon "test" (before the Motor Company turns them loose to ride around the countryside.) Most did OK, but some didn't.

Not everyone can jump on a trike and GO :D
