Is this exhaust routing normal for trikes?

Not normal or abnormal, just "is". Seems to me, those offsets are kit supplied to reposition mufflers lower? It's just how "they" did it on their kits I guess. I've seen it before looking under some out of curiosity, and at first thought it was way restrictive …. but then it is only a 1800 cc or about 110 cubic inch engine, and not a high rpm one at that (is redline not about 5500 rpm?), and there's two exhaust pipes/mufflers sharing the exhaust chores, and the pipes looked to be near 2" OD or close to it …. so even with sharp bends, there looks to be adequate flow to me there. Besides, looking at other details, looks necessary in that case.

I guess if it worried you a lot, a muffler shop could cut, bend, weld up something sexier, but who sees it? Likely, it'll collect road dirt, dust, water spots, etc.
