What product out there would let me intergrate my iphone so that I can use it to talk through my headset.

Current set up is a 2010 Goldwing Motor trike. My headset is a EdSet 3G. My Phone Iphone 4.

I normally do not worry about phone just check it when I get off the bike, however I am planning a trip in June to Mount Rushmore and I have family members that are ill and want to be able to got ahold of at any minute.

Thanks for any help you can give me.

Re: Iphone integration

Howdy Paul,

J & M has a couple different ways you could go. Here's a like to their site. J&M Motorcycle Audio You might want to just call and chat with them a while to see what is the best option for you.

You could also call Overby's Two Wheel Sound Overby's Two Wheel Sound - America's Motorcycle Audio Specialist - Home and talk with Robert. He is really knowledgeable and they sell J & M products at lower prices

I have their Bluetooth integration that lets me link my Garmin Zumo 660 and iPhone along with the bike's audio into my head set. I'm very happy with that set up.

Sorry, but I can't agree with using a phone, ANY phone while riding. Whether or not it's bluetooth. One can always pull over someplace if it's an emergency......Just my humble opinion........

I tell people that if they can't get me on the phone to leave a message as I always check it when I stop. But I flat out REFUSE to use one while riding.

I absolutely, 100 percent, agree with you! And I look forward to the day when cellphones are automatically disabled when you turn on the ignition! Whose life and limb are worth the price of an unnecessary cellphone call?

Bluetooth makes to possible to talk on the phone (or bike I guess) and do it safely. Talking on a bluetooth phone is no different that talking to someone in your car who is riding with you. I agree that texting or other distracting activities should be regulated, but the last thing we need is some bureaucrat coming up with some rule about disabling ignitions. Some folks are plain sick and tired of gov't telling us what is best for everyone, in every aspect of life anymore.

I'll agree with you on the government thing.

Well, as for me, I ride to get away from the everyday pressures that befall us all. And, frankly, the cell phone is just one, of MANY, things I like to get away from. There IS the voicemail capabilities, one doesn't HAVE to go down the road at 70mph talking away on the friggin' phone. Recently I had to head into the mountain area of Virginia on a job, and, guess what, NO CELL PHONE COVERAGE. It was extremely nice to get away from it for a couple of days. Amazingly enough I didn't miss anything as I was able to check my messages on a computer at the motel. And I didn't miss one darn thing.

If that phone call is THAT important then there are plenty of rest areas, gas stations, truck stops, et al. that you can pull over to take it.

Well if you notice my OP I check when I stop. I place the phone in back trunk as I ride. I never said I would be riding and talking, you made an assumption with out the facts. I got the Mic and speakers in headset just thought it would be cool to leave phone in back where I have the charger and know when it rings and my phone will anounce who the caller is, at which point I could pull over as I have no problem with that and not have to dig the phone out. Thanks for the Hyjack just the same.

All the soulitions I may have found so far is just more money than I want to spend so I will probably just by a power port for left fairing pocket and a handle bar mount so I can see when I have an call come in.

That way hbrogan57 I can play words with friends while I ride :p

I have been looking for a long time and it does not seem like it should be that hard to make something affordable. Since I am a single dad I like to be able to respond immediately, so for now I have been wearing some earplugs with a microphone attached to my phone in my front top pocket. The phone automatically answers and hangs up and they can hear me well enough with this setup, at least I will know if it is an emergency. I am still waiting on a better solution.

I considered this but already ran over one phone when I hit a large bump and phone came out of pocket. For me I would be concerned about earplugs as I was to hear the sound around me I don't listen to the radio the headset is to hear the wife say hey I need to stop.

Really no concern about blocking out the sound around us. Many hear wear earplugs to protect their hearing, which is a good idea. I am now looking to rig something up that the earplugs can replace my helmet speakers and also incorporate a phone.

Bluetooth I-phone

Instead of dealing with the cords from the stock intercom we have a mated pair of Scala Rider intercoms. We can talk back n forth, answer our individual Phones, listen to our radio stations supplement the bikes radio without having to blast out everyone around us, listen to our own music and stay in touch with our ridding friends that have Scala riders also. And can still hear our CB! I have charging plugs located in the upper and lower boxes so we can charge them when taking a break. We can also move them to whatever helmet we want to wear FF or OF. Gotta Love Bluetooth.

Whats the difference between talking on the phone and talking to your passenger if your riding 2 up?:xzqxz:

You can be riding along listening to music and singing along.....Anything can be a distraction if you let it become one. I have 4 kids and guys that work for me and being able to communicate with them anytime is what lets me find time for riding. We aren't all in a position to ride in peace and tranquility:D

What works for some, might not work for others. ;)
