Interested in 2003 Harley Trike

I'm interested in a 2003 Harley Trike for sale, and haven't been able to find much information on them. The Tri-Glide, which it looks like, started in 2009, so I suspect a conversion, but havent heard back from the owner yet.

Any info or websites woufl be helpful.

Thanks!

Kevin, Welcome to Trike Talk…👍👍…It could be a conversion… Or made by Learman out of spearfish South Dakota, and they’ve been out of business for quite a while now ..

Welcome to Trike talk. Conversion for sure and really depends on condition and brand of condition and price. If it’s a Leahman, I personally wouldn’t get it.

Lower left side of the back of the trunk says Lehman. I can't make out what it says opposite that.

I have read that parts are few and far-between for Lehman conversions .. I personally know that a piece of body tupperware on a Gold Wing conversion was a custom make for Lehman.. not available anywhere.

If it is a Lehman conversion, I would be hands off. To hard to find parts. No matter what the price is.

Doesn't appear to have an "EZ Steer" kit to increase rake..... I had a 2005 FLHTC with a Lehman kit on it a few years ago and it steered like a truck. Added a rake kit which made all the difference in the world. The Lehman conversion was good but not great in terms of ride quality. I believe the early triglides were essentially a Lehman kit. Biggest complaint I had was lack of power and heat. I changed the cams, air cleaner, pipes, added a PC 5 tuner and an oil cooler which made it run pretty good with a passenger on board.

If you could get the trike for a good price, figure spending a couple of thousand on it to make it drive better.

And yes, some Lehman parts are hard to find although when I sold my 2005, it had 45K miles on it and I hadn't replaced anything related to the conversion. Sold it 3 years ago for 12K and was glad to get it.
