65* this am, 15-20 mph crosswind. normally a freeze-your-face. ridehave to pull my ball-cap down to keep it on.
with Dennis's wind deflector i like it. i didn't feel the cross wing going 65 mph on 4 lane hwy. and the wind buffetting was gone.
here are a few tools i used. 1//4x20 tap to tap out the threads on the already threaded holes (but unused) the ones that are just inboard of the
3/4" bolt heads . Just in front of the stabalizer. you can do this ahead of time
also i used a couple of short screwdrivers 1 1/2" to keep the alignment when you remove the screwws on the forks.that way 1 person can do this in 30 min.
will have to wait till hot weather to see the effects on oil temps.

as i have my oil temp thermostat in-line from the oil cooles(installed in lt. crash bar area.) to the oil filter. as the twin cam is the first eng that the oil goes thru the oil filter before it goes to the enging. i have the oil temp reading as the oil goes to the engine.allen wrench is 4 MM.
nice work Dennis.

+1 on the tap. They must paint the triple trees after the holes are tapped. Lots of paint comes out when the threads are chased.

Wait till you get caught in the rain, you will be surprised at how dry you can ride. The deflected wind carries the rain around you also. May just be a reason to leave them on in the summer as well. Swan will probably remarket them as rain protection ;-)

OH!! WOW- IS- ME I'M A FAIR-WEATHER BIKER. ha!!
SAME CONDITIONS TODAY ONLY A BIT WARMER. and the wind deflectors are worth the $$. i know its costly esp if you go for the chrome ones but on a long trip i'll bet you'll be glad you have them. also did 80 freeway miles today looking for PARKS GOLATH tomato plants 16-24 oz. a big red slicer. found them too.oil temp was 180* or a bit less all day

When I traded the red TG for Big Blue, I removed the baffle and deflectors prior to the trade. So I had a miserable ride to the dealer and back going without the deflectors.

First thing I did to Big Blue when I got it home. Awwww, much better now. And after 1,250 miles I can say Dennis' reflectors still rock! On another note, the deflectors have absolutely no bearing on engine temperature. At this point, I haven't seen anything drastic for the baffle either. I also will be running an oil temp gauge by Friday. So far I've been using TTS and doing Datamaster runs and monitoring engine temperature (cylinder head). Again, so far nothing drastic.
