I'm just tooooo old for this biker stuff!

That is fantastic! We have a group of riders here (not a club) that go one weekend a year and offer rides to residents of our local care center. They usually have 4 or 5 takers. This started with one rider taking his grandmother for a ride several years ago, and it just went from there.

Even the ones who don't ride, have a good time looking at the bikes and mingling with the riders. Many climb on for a pic.

Ah yes, our biker group puts on a annual home made ice cream night for one of the local nursing homes. We all show up on bikes and some of the residents get to sit on them. There are several that were bikers "back in the day".

In Australia we don't only walk the walk... We have a M/C (and trike of course) club that caters for 40 and over... At 40 you are a 'junior member' and the joke is that they have to help the older guys onto their bikes

About 25 years ago, a man named Steve Dearnley started the Ulysses club for older bikers, and at the time it was a bit 'tongue in cheek', and a newspaper cartoonist penned a logo which was adopted and is part of our emblem... it is affectionately known as 'The Old Man'

From that very small beginning with around 5 to 7 original members, today boasts over 28,000 financial members... not bad for Australia huh?

Our AGMs (in a different part of Oz each year) always attracts thousands of bikers and trikers from all over. The AGM gathering usually lasts around 7 days and every one I've attended since 1999 I have never seen one dispute or any display of bad feeling. The mayor's of the citys where we congregate welcome us with open arms because of the trouble-free atmosphere, and also the huge injection of $$$$ that happens within their community as a result.

The club is really 'into' community spirited functions and fund raisers for the elderly and disabled (VSK days for very special kids) Our motto is "Grow Old Disgracefully" and most of us do just that.

We do have international members, and when they visit Australia are always welcomed by the local chapters and are afforded our hospitality. If anybody is interested in reading more about this fantastic club, the URL is:
