When my knees started going I knew if I was going to continue rideing I would one day end up on three wheels. It was not something I really wanted to do because I've been rideing two wheeled motorcycles since I was a kid and dearly love them.
The decision was made last July after my knees gave out unexpectly on a few occasions with Shirley on board. In August I somewhat reluctantly pulled the trigger and had my Yamaha RSV converted by Hannigan. I took delivery August 31 and have not looked back. I took to this thing like a duck to water. It's a blast to ride and I allways look forward to the next ride minuts after finishing one.

So what are my second thoughts?
Well, I have this sitting on the other side of the garage and it has seen very little time on the road since I converted her stable mate. I've had thoughts of converting it with a kit from Champion. I have never said a word about it. Then Yesterday, out of the blue, Shirley asked if I had considered converting the Honda too and how much? I tell her and she says, hmmm lets think about this.:D

Glad you are able to continue riding with the trike. Enjoy your travels together. If your wife can ride on her own I would seriously consider putting a kit on the second bike.

My wife and I went through the same thing about 3 years ago when she told me she wasn't very comfortable riding 2 wheels with me and suggested we look at a trike as she didn't want to miss out on the riding. We've not looked back since, in fact we're on our second trike. We bought a 2000 Honda GL1500 first with a Motortrike kit just like the one a buddy of ours was riding. I really wanted an 1800 but could not find what I wanted anywhere close by and was having sticker shock with the difference to jump up one year to get an 1800. The next spring we took the trike in for service at the local dealer and while I was unloading off the trailer my wife was wandering around the show room. When I walked in the service area she was standing there and said before you do anything you better come with me. 2 hours later we had a 2007 GL1800 with a Champion kit on the trailer and headed home. It's an awesome ride.

I wish Shirley could ride her own but her vision is too bad. She can no longer drive a car either.
She loves to ride tho and likes the idea of having a spare bike in case one is down for any length of time. Thats how I got 2 bikes in the first place. Yep, she's a keeper.

Sorry to hear she can't ride her own but glad the two of you can get out and enjoy riding together. Hears to may great miles and great times on your trike.
