I posted this on FB a while back:

Nigh onto 44 years ago, I had a life-altering, and almost life-ending, experience with a motorcycle and a few trees. Seven weeks plus one day in the hospital, 5 operations, various complications, one out-of-body experience, bed-ridden at home for an additional month before walking again...shot the hell out of a perfectly good summer.

Funny thing is, I still don't know what happened. Sort of like an accident on a soap-opera...knocked a couple hours right out of my memory. I don't know if anyone knows what happened, if anyone was riding with me or witnessed it; no one has ever shared anything with me if they did know. That isn't a big deal, and never was, and sure wouldn't change anything...but would be nice to know just for curiosity’s sake.

44 years of being confined to 4 wheels (my automobile). Oh, how I did love to ride cycles. I have missed it.

I'm just sharing that that is about to change. I'm losing a wheel. Yes, kiddies, Chip has a trike. I have tried to figure out for years, just how I could manipulate the controls and operate a trike. Never could quite figure everything out...close, but not completely. Then, one day, as I sat on a restaurant balcony in Gatlinburg, gazing at the cars/motorcycles below on the Parkway...wait a minute...that motorcycle has a steering wheel! Hot Damn!

A bit of Googling and I found it, a limited production trike based on a ford power train with a steering wheel and automatic transmission.
After over a year of searching I finally found one that was a sweet deal, a good buy, and is now coming to live with me.
My days of being a wild ass youngster riding a bike are over...I'm old...I have a trike...I'm gonna cruise.

UPDATE: after a short visit with my mechanic to adjust the suspension and a couple other things, it is back home with me!!

Damn, it is a sweet ride!!

Welcome fellow Stallion owner! Can we look forward to seeing you in Maggie Valley, or maybe next winter at the Snowbird Party?

Welcome

Glad you found something that would work for you. I to was busted up pretty bad on a 2 wheeler and found my way to the trike world. If your back in the Gatlinburg area shoot me a pm and I'll show you around the mountains as I live in Pigeon forge.
Good luck on your new ride.

Welcome TnTrikeRider

Glad you found the Stallion AND our site....I too had a similar experience to yours, years ago and my ex pleaded with me not to ride again. It took 27 months of P.T. to relearn everything normal people take for granted. That was along time ago and another wife away. I met and married awhile back to a gal who wanted a potential mate who rode a bike as she rode her own. So I bought a two-wheeler and got back into the saddle. Well, now I'm back on a trike, been rode hard and put up wet too many times..lol and the ole body is again failing...but I am growing fonder of this ride, that is if all the people who see me in it will stop asking questions long enough for me to ride...lol...Nah, we all love the adoration this trike brings and I love telling everyone all about my Stallion. WELCOME ABOARD! Ron
