We have all heard the term "I slept like a log." So that started me wondering, on which side do logs truly prefer to sleep?

I me being an expert logs man [Not to be confused with expert legs man] It depends hardwood will always sleep on their right side, Whereas conifer will only sleep on their left side....And that all depends on which side of the Continental divide the trees are growing on....Then you will have to rely on Occam's Razor's Theory to determine which side they sleep on .... Which in simple terms means.....
They will sleep on the side that they fall on..:xzqxz:
 Now that is a true Rhino reply! I love it!

Does amake a noise when it falls if no one is there to see it ?
It does, I had a field /game camera with a mic in the woods well over a mile from any person dead or live, Sure enough a big old Hemlock came down , And made a crashing sound...:wave4:
Suspicions confirmed...
Somehow, trees always seem to fall on the side that doesn't have moss on it. How do they do that?
Internal compass, And natural counterbalancing mechanisms on dyeing trees with the prevailing winds blowing that keeps the down side oriented South, Sought of like Old people moving South to retire...![]()

Not necessarily .................. Trees have been know to take root laying on their side. The branches that were at one time horizontal to the ground, now grow vertically. Or, some forest creature may hollow it out for shelter or nourishment. This is why the native way of burial is best. It returns the body to the soil while allowing the spirit to travel free. This routine of burying people in sealed boxes simply wastes valuable space imho. Ymmv
