I love riding a trike

Had to give up two wheeler about 10 years ago due to back problems, okay while in motion but hard to balance at a stop, dropped the bike a few times. I thought my riding days were over!

Then I met a couple from Alabama with a Goldwing 1800 trike who toured a lot. They re-lit the fire and I got a 2001 trike. What a difference!

I now own a 2009 BMW K1200 With a Hannigan conversion and I ride it every day. Recently returned from a 1500 mile trip, Florida to North Carolina mountains. I was really pleased to find that I could ride the mountain twisties as easily as a two wheeler. Sometimes had to slow down behind bikers who didn't have the same stability and control on these roads.

I just love riding my trike. :)

Sure, I've got a car taking up garage space. I take it down the highway every 10 days or so to keep it running. It's also handy if I have to get a piece of lumber or a few bags of fertilizer.

Thanks TT for all the good info and interesting discussions.

Same here, the pick up sits all summer except when I need to haul some lumber or something. Love the trike and even get the better half on board some days.

The Hannigan kit has been ordered for our 2000 LT and should be in the first week of September. The shop says it will take about 10 days to do the conversion. My wife wants to learn to ride the trike while I ride the GTL. We'll see how that works out, she has only been a passenger on my bikes but hopefully she will pick it up. If not, we'll do the trike two up.

I have to agree with you. After picking up my trike in May I have to say it has returned the joy of riding to both myself and my wife. I now wonder what took me so long to look into getting one. :)

I'm currently touring in northern Oregon.

This tour has convinced me that I need to get a trike or a hack. The bit yesterday that brought it home was a very steep, hairpin descent into the Deschutes River canyon on a road which had just been resurfaced and which had loose gravel all over...I absolutely crawled...didn't want to drop the bike. That situation would not have been of significance on a trike or hack.

Now the only issue is putting together the $$$$. That's sort of a big deal, but I'll figure out a way somehow...

That is fantastic you getting your wife behind the handlebars. There is nothing on these trikes that a woman can't handle with the proper training like anybody else. There are many women enjoying piloting trikes today along with men . Ride safe.

My bikes in the shop getting "trike out" as we speak :pepper: looking forward to learning a new way to ride............
2010 Goldwing...............Roadsmith kit.....

I must say I too, love riding my Trike. I love it more than riding two wheels. I enjoy the cornering ability, the stability, the comfort for my wife, etc. I would not go back and wish I would have move to 3 wheels before I did. Just have to get use to my biker buddies "ribbing" me about being on 3 wheels, but secretly they probably want 3 wheels too!
