Mitzie and I ride Recumbent Trike Bicycles now along with Regular Bicycles...preparing for and after Her knee replacement it became the best therapy We found....then it became a new "addiction"...We even have a 2-up Tandem Recumbent Trike now.....:).....28795988_1854847447859893_5058359035168380108_n.jpg...and Others.....29513165_1774794649225243_5184253501981425776_n.jpg

Where is the Engine.......

They could easily be a "healthy addition" to Your Other Motorized Trike(s)...amazing how much better You feel after a year or longer of riding...:).....29314416_1869186119759359_7766987649292862229_n.jpg...do I miss Motorcycle Trikes...???...Yes I do...I rode Motorcycles, Trikes, Scooters for 46+ years, They are an addiction with me, just like Race Cars, Bicycles, etc. ...I still Love TRIKE TALK.com, and miss All of the Friends Mitzie and I made over the years and RALLIES...Good to be back.....:) :) :)

Are both engines running all the time,or is one just as a backup

Either Crank will drive it, so either Rider can take a break...also it has IPS (independent pedal system), so both Riders can pedal at different RPM...Front Crank (mine) is about 2/3 of the power/resistance, with the rear (Mitzie's), having the remaining 1/3...You generally need/want Both pedaling on long/steep hills...with Bags, Gear, Accessories, etc., it weighs about 70 pounds and 10 feet long end to end, plus my 170 lbs and Mitzie's XXX lbs...the Single Rider Trikes I've owned have weighed from just 30 lbs (Catrike 700) to my present Trident Trikes Terrain Fat Tire's 50 lbs....so, to answer Your question, Mitzie is the back-up (if She wants to be...:D), and mandatory on large hills.....

I am the lone cyclist in our family. How much is that setup? Do you ship to KC..or know of a shop here that could duplicate it?

Single Trikes start at $900 to around $5000 ....I just sold a Catrike 700, it cost $3500...the Green Fat Tire Trike in the photos cost $1400...it's from a company called Trident Trikes in Lincolnton, NC...the Tandem is a Trident also...cost $6000 (Terra Trike in Ohio has a $2500 Tandem)...yep, everything nice costs nowadays......Google "Recumbent Trikes" for Your Area...I'm sure there is a Dealer for various brands somewhere...:)

You 2 sure see some nice territory on those things.Nice to see ya posting here again.

Are those disc brakes I see? Just what kind of speed do you get out of those? Try not to run me over if you ever see any rollerblader. FYI If you ever make it out to Tucson area, the bicycle paths are to die for. I only saw one recumbent out there and lots of wannabe Tour De Francers.

Nice trikes. I've been looking for one myself now that I'm living in the city.

This one looks good. :clapping:

My wife had a 3 wheel bike like that.......And it was great on level ground, But even on slight upgrades it was hard to peddle....She gave up on it real fast...

The one in the pic has six speeds and where I live now is very flat. Had a walk today and it felt great to enjoy the cool air and breeze.
