Check the boxes your HD parts came in and look at the tags in the shirts. You will find they, most likely, came from the same countries the "other manufacturers" stuff came from! I think some of the T-shirts may still be made in the good ole USA. Been a while since I bought any!
I got banned off of a HD forum for trying to be funny one time explaning a new HD touring bike that was forthcoming!
Told it would be water cooled, 4 cylinders, drive shaft w/approx 100hp, longer unlimited milage warranty and would be $6,000 cheaper than the current Ultra.
Finished up by saying, "Wait I'm sorry, that's not a Harley, it's a Yamaha Venture.
Guess the monitors had no sense of humor as I could no longer log in!!!!!!

Are you NEW to the Harley life style ?
I have admired Harley's ever since I seen a pack of a whole Chapter
of Hells Angels go by me when I was walking along a road in the
Summer of 1971. I loved the sound of the bikes and the look !
I finally took the jump and bought my 1st (of many) Harley in 1997.
I do not know how it is over there but over here in the USA back then
was you had to get on a LIST just to buy one and most times the price
was INFLATED by anywhere from $1000 to $3000 over the MSRP.
That was when they were making 170,000 units World wide and now
it is more than DOUBLE that. What has happen though over here is that
they flooded the market with bikes and the LIST's of bygone days are
gone. Now and the ression over here and people having to sell their bikes
has made it pretty much a BUYER's market. I see Dealer's in my area selling
new bikes for MSRP and GIVING coupons for accessories of $1000 when the
bike is bought. So basiclly that is really $1000 under MSRP. What I have
seen this Year though is the price of clothing go up at the Harley shops
and maybe that is where they are trying to make their money now.
As for the price of HD vs Kuryakyn ..... It has ALWAYS been like that.
We buy alot off E-bay or just wait for a Dealer to have a 15% off
discount day. Like the old saying over here .... HD stands for Hundred
Dollars ....

LOL .... Everytime we went into a HD Dealer we pretty much
spent that before leaving ;-)
Rob .....

P.S. another great place to buy stuff is from the people selling their
stuff on the forums and even one of the many Yahoo Group forums.
I got a great deal on a Tach and seat for my Wide Glide from a member
on a Dyna only Yahoo Group.

Interesting!
I became friends w/the owner of a local Harley store a number of years ago.
He told me, whenever he sold a bike, he knew the owner and family members would be back many times. The average expenditure was around $2,500 for
accessories and clothing. That's the average, which means a lot of people are spending a lot more. While he made good money, selling the bikes @ MSRP, he knew he would make a lot more from the "extras" people would buy.
Other dealers in the area, some still do, would add a few thousands in accessories to the bikes. Then the price would be MSRP for the bike+shipping+set up+doc. fees+MSRP on all the accessories+the labor to install the accessories+sales tax. You paid it or the next person in the door would.

Glad that some others tend to agree.

Interesting!

LOL ...... I guess Lynn & I belong to the "a lot more" people !
Just her 07 Street Glide that we traded in for her 2010 TG had $6,000
of EXTRA's in cost alone and that is not counting paying the Dealer to
install some of it :-(
For the total of all the HD's we have own and still do since July 1997
I would say we have spent atleast $25,000 and dividing that by 13 years
that would be about $2000 a year not counting the price of installing
some of the stuff. So his figure of $2500 is just about right.
Oh ... Wait you meant only ONCE when the bike is bought not EVERY year :D
Rob ....

50 bucks for a t-shirt? HD stands for hundred dollar. You got off cheap LOL HD has always been steep with their clothing prices. I never buy anything at a dealer unless it's on clearance, or at least on sale. The Honda Dealer where I purchased my Wing Trike always has a clearance section. My wife got her jacket 50% off when we picked up the trike. I said I should get one free kidding around with the salesperson. Well, guess what? Mine was free! BMW is really proud of their clothing line also.

BMW stands for "bring more wampum". Or, "bring my wallet". Tom
