[h=4]Honda recalls 145,000 motorcycles; rear brakes can drag[/h]Honda is recalling over 145,000 motorcycles in the U.S. to fix dragging rear brakes that can cause a fire or crash. Documents posted by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration say it's the third recall for some of the motorcycles. The recall covers the GL1800 model from 2001 through 2010 ...

I asked my Honda dealer last spring about this he said mine had been fixed but I know sometimes it feels like they drag after a stop. I had that when we were down in Maggie Valley once getting ready to get on the BRP

Yes, that's what I was wondering, maybe someone who has tried going to a dealer, or SolidBob who seems to know a lot about Conversions will come through. Maybe even one or two of the brand name conversion folks will answer up with an opinion.

I spoke with Honda Motorcycle Corporate on 11/06/2015 with the Hot Line number provided.

If your VIN # is in the recall list for the brake issue, you will receive a letter from Honda notifying you of the problem. Call Honda to verify if you are on the list. The recall will affect 2001 and later motorcycles. This is a big safety recall!

Some conversions deactivate the linked brake system but the potentially defective secondary master cylinder still needs to be replaced.

Get your bike checked out and fixed under this recall, trike or not.ThumbUp

My 2 cents.

Thanks sully for the early heads up.ThumbUp

Champion non linked trike re called

A dealer talking with Honda did my 03 Wing Champion Trike
solid axle, both master cyls and 6 bottles of flush.
I guess they pay the dealer $445 for the service.

I heard about the recall even though I never got a notice in the mail. I checked with my Honda dealer and was told to bring it in they would take care of it at no cost to me. My 2012 is a CSC trike and three of my riding buddies also trike owners all had it done last week. There was no cost to any of us.

The latest recall is each and every GL18000-all of them:xzqxz:
It's the secondary master cylinder that is defective:gah:
This is being replaced and brake fluid replaced.
Letters are being issued but, not all at once. Being done in stages so supply can keep up with demand

I did not wait for the letter. Honda Corporate told me that it might take 6 to 8 weeks for the letter to arrive by mail.:AGGHH:

I went a dealer the next day and scheduled an appointment for the recall issues for the very next day. The work was completed
