Hey folks ..
Glad to join the group and thanks for the inclusion .... all the way from Bribie Island off the sunny coast of Queensland - Australia.
Hopefully I won't ask too many 'silly' questions of you folks .. just in case I do I'll apologise now.
Although pretty much now being an old crotchety, I've ridden bikes for at least 50 years. Having said that, I am the first to admit I am a complete novice when it comes to anything trike related or riding a Harley; both of which are now part and parcel of this latest project. Strange how things come about ... I'm also a below left knee amputee and really hadn't intended going down the road of owning a trike (no offence intended) but the opportunity to do another vehicle restoration came up, plus my wife and I both have mobility issues, so this really will fit our situation perfectly.
Just briefly as a quick descriptor, at the heart of our trike is a '77 Harley Sportster frame, with a complete H-D servicar differential... All of which has been very well - almost 'over engineered' from around the swing arm support area. The engine is a Harley Ironhead that's been fitted with 1200 evo barrels. Still has pretty much the stock disc brake front end ... May look a bit messy now, but no where near as bad as some projects at their commencement I've done in the past .... Cheers Greg
