My wife and I will be in Helen Sept 22-25 staying at the River Bend motel, I see we will be there for Octoberfest is there any must see/do while we are there. We plan on checking out Ruby Falls and a lil trout fishing.

Unfortunately we will have the car and not the bike.

You really need to bring the bike. There is prime riding in the area.
I'm guessing you mean Anna ruby falls. There pretty nice. If you have a clear day go up to Brasstown bald. It's the highest point in ga. Don't waste your time if it's cloudy. Theres quite a few wineries in the area.
Our favorite BBQ is at North Ga BBQ. Any of the locals should be able to point you to them.
Helen it self is a tourist trap. Lots of little shops.
Ride over to Dahlonega. It's a neat little old town.
But you realy need to bring the bike.:NoJoke:

Go over to Blaresville and have lunch at the Copperhead lodge and check out their rental cabins with the motorcycle garage. Really a neat place and very biker friendly. Be sure and pick up a local map and ride the "gauntlet", it is a great motorcycle ride.

We had our Friends On Wheels rally there last summer. Great triking county and see the places mentioned above.
Also go and see where the Cabbage Patch Kids are born.

:Agree: Gonna miss your bike when you get there and see all the others ,,I did . Beautiful little place and don't miss ( Goats on the Roof).:clapping:

I was there one time during October Festival. Never again. You can walk faster than drive through town. Hope you have a better time than I did. Have a good trip.

Visit the Nora Mill Granary, right before you get into Helen. If you go early they give you fresh slow cooked oatmeal breakfast. The oats are ground right there. Really nice place.
Bring the bike enjoy the scenery and end the day at the wineries.
The misses and I real love that part of Georgia. Not far from their is a place with some awesome zip lining.
Have fun, relax and again enjoy the scenery.

ps
Stay away from the bear park a rip-off and in my opine should be classified as cruelty to animals.
