Headlights and dashboard bright light indicator do not work at all 98 Goldwing 1500. Have checked the 15 amp fuse and both high and low relay switches. Is there any more stupid fuses on this thing that I haven't checked yet? Any help would be greatly appreciated. I've had it with incompetent Honda mechanics. Every time I bring this this into another shop, it comes back worse than what it was.

Have you tried soaking the starter switch down with WD40 or silicone spray? It's a two part switch and sometimes the half that kills the lights doesn't release. I've heard of this but never seen it. Hey, it's worth a try... :xszpv: :xszpv:

Good Luck !!

Hey GoldRush, I read that somewhere else too. But, I think that was on an 1800. I've got some PB blaster that I'll try. Isn't any more hidden fuses on this thing, is there? Yes, you got it, I'm frustrated. Thanks

You may be right about the GL1500 not being the same as the 1800 there. Have you looked at goldwingdocs.com to see if there is some help? I have a service manual for a 1994 I downloaded if you would like it send me your email via PM and I'll forward it to you....

Well I'm sure the one that feels stupid. I cleaned all these connections last spring and really didn't think that would be the problem. But lo and behold, I forgot that I did get caught in a downpour about a month and a half ago and that might have contributed to the problem. Anywho, I cleaned the switch with some electronics cleaner and it now works once again. Thanks guys, I now have headlights again and can go and enjoy this 70 degree plus weather were having. pepper

Hey Randy,

Glad you put a fix on that bug!!!! Just a suggestion - I'd soak it down good with silicone spray as well. That will give the switch a little anti corrosion protection and just maybe prevent the return event.

OH like Wheels says. Cover up the plastic. I don't think silicone spray will hurt it but why tempt the gremlins. :xszpv: :xszpv:
