Ive never had the need for brighter headlights on any of my Bikes and Trikes... Human Nature Says: The brighter the lights the further you can see down the road , So the faster you drive down the road and the harder you wack the deer jumping out in front of you...But thats just my feelings ....

Perhaps don't change the headlights - but add driving lamps. My son had a 2014 Suzuki Blvd. I just added those driving lights on a light bar. Really made a difference.
Search TriGlide passing lights - these were just $89 - 600 lums.
Good luck

I ride a lot in the dark due to my work schedule. The stock lights just did not cut it. I got the HogWorkz Halo LED headlight and passing lamps and it made a world of difference. Like another said, I live in the country so I need all the light I can get and the stock light seemed to put a small square about 10-20 feet in front of the trike. I also added the Custom dynamics turn signal lights and lower fairing lights, plus the Kuryakan rear light bars and the Custom Dynamic Tour pack brake strobe. I can see plenty far down the road with my low beams on and have light coverage ditch to ditch on a 2 lane.

Are you sure your day maker is properly adjusted? Mine works just fine. I do have a Custom Dynamics headlight on my 07 Flhtc and it works as good or better. Both very adequate.

Dont know the lumens- check the web sites.. I've run the JW Speaker dual burn on my trike since new. Made in U.S.A. You can go cheaper L.E.D. lamps off fleabay- and I havnt heard any major complaints about them. In the summer I ride all night so the extra cost is worth it to me. For those that are mainly daylight riders and just want to get the waterheads attention, a discount lamp may be all you need.I have the 2018 tri glide , my next upgrade before spring will be replacing the headlight. I live in the country and need to see what is down the road before i get there, like deer for instance. The oem is not nearly as bright as the led replacements i had on my ultra classic. so i am in search of a new set up. i wish i could remember what after market lights i used, but toooo many years ago. does anyone know what the low beam and high beam lumens are on the oem lights.

The older I get the harder it is for me to see clearly at night. If anything I am driving slower at night than I used to. And I ride two lane country roads with no street lights. I would like to see potential objects further away. I used to overdrive my Kawasaki headlight a lot. didn't always end well. trying to avoid that now.
I know there are several companies who advertise there lights are better: custom dynamics, Eagle, Hog Workz, etc. But no mention of out put in Watts or Lumins or what ever they measure it in now.
