I would like some comments on grips for my GL1800 Roadsmith trike. The OEM grips are narrow / thin and cause some hand discomfort on long rides. Anyone changed the grips out, and what did you replace them with? How difficult is it to change them out yourself? Thanks,

I'm not a Kuryakyn product lover, but their Premium ISO Grips with chrome accent rings and throttle boss are an awesome grips.

Sorry about all the edits, but doing the research. At times I get overly exuberant about a product I like and have only used them on Harley's, but that will change after finding the link and put them on my GL1800 trike.

How much larger around do you need? There is a foam grip cover called "Grip Puppies", and at a rally I saw one made out of Neoprene called "Grip Buddies".

There was also an idea I saw somewhere that somebody used closed-cell foam pipe insulation. it comes in different diameters, slit and non-slit, and in a lovely shade of gray to match any ride.
Search "motorcycle grip covers" on the interwebs and you'll find a bunch of inexpensive ways to fatten up grips.

I'm happy with "Grip Puppies". If you have heated grips then the Puppies will let the heat thru to your hands. Easy to slip over the original grips using compressed air blowing thru to expand the Puppies while you slip them on.

I have changed the grips on my last 3 bikes. Never had heated grips on either of my Wings, and always changed to a set of grips I got from coolsac.com a little larger them oem and a very wide selection. If nothing else just visit the web site.

I tend to favor the foam grips .... had those Kuryakin ones that were chrome with rubber strips protruding for awhile .... prefer the foam ones. Have them on both Wings .... and a couple spare sets. Also, I use "Vista-Cruise" throttle locks (they don't really lock the throttle, just add resistance to hold it as set and no more) and I usea Kuryakin Palm Rests on each.
