GPS Location

I currently have a Goldwing 1800 with the GPS mounted on the handlebar. I am purchasing a Stallion and wanting to use the same Ram mount somehow, if possible. I was thinking about getting wood type screws to use to mount somewhere on the dash. Where are you Stallion owners mounting your GPS's. Any and all suggestions will be appreciated.

Finding a good spot for it on the Stallion in not easy. Suction cup to the windshield holds the best but also vibrates the worst. The suction has difficulity holding on the dash it self. I cobbled together a really short mount, and my wife suctions it to her Gage glass. Her Nuvi will fit just to one side of the Speedometer, and she nevers looks at the other gages anyway.

Most of the time she follows me, and keeps the GPS in her trunk.

Mine is mounted on the left side of the dash just above the radio. At first I had it put on the windshield with a suction cup, but didn't like the way it was, so I then went with a permanent mount on the dash.

On my 2008 before the night light, I mounted my Zumo on the area below the steering wheel. It is easy to see by just glancing down through the wheel. It does not get washed out by sunlight and is not distracting at night. Just wired from behind and directly to battery with Garman provided fuze block. Works great and is out of the way from prying fingers when the cover is no. Also out of the direct spray from rain although it is waterproof. See photo below.
