I have bought me a 97 Valkyrie trike and man bike was in great shape. Got home and found the tank had rust in it and someone had put a coating in it. It might run forever but I'm Picky about stuff like this. Ran up on this by sure luck. He has it listed as something else. Here is my find for $600 dollars delivered. A European tank with the different badges.s-l1600.jpg

Nice find!

But good chance the OEM was coated as a preservation method, not necessarily repair. I read that it wast rusty, but did you see rust or just figure that was reason for coating? My 1974 Trident's tank was perfect, OEM paint and hand pinstripe, and I coated it inside in 1994 just to maintain, still perfect when sold in 2017.

They used Red Kote in it. The coating is kinda transparent and could see some sights of a little rust. Not bad, but enough that I don't like it. Have run it for about a month and no problem with carbs or fuel issue. It might outlast me, but decided on the new tank being I found one.
