I have a 2011 TriGlide.. The lower farring wind sheilds will not stay open. Had the dealer tighten them again last night and voila they close again.

Has anyone had this problems and how did you fix it?
With the previous topic on the excessive heat from these trikes, I need all the air I can get.

Please help if you have thoughts

Had the same problem with my '08 Ultra from the day I bought it new. They would vibrate closed and rattle at idle. I removed them this spring because the SE Heavy Breather's (compact model) filter was rubbing against the right glove box. The extra air flow seems to keep the engine cooler when riding and the annoying rattle is gone.

I remove just the doors, leaving the lowers on, in the summer. Then re-install the doors back into the lowers in October. They always close themselves one or two clicks when riding, but not all the way. Agree with Trikermutha, see if you can have them replaced under warranty.

You may also want to tell the dealer that you are cooking in the seat and have them richen up the fuel air mixture along with have them replace the air vents that seem to be defective. This all should be under warranty. If they will not help tell them to get the Harley rep down to the dealership to approve the repairs under warranty.

I am sure you didnt spend 30k to have things not work correctly.

The dealer can't richen things up without the OP buying a tuner to do it with. If the vents in the fairing lowers are still closing all anyone has to do is tighten down some more on the bolt inside the glove boxes until they stop vibrating closed.

+1. Been there, done that.

+2 on wife's '11. Took the lowers off my '09 and added a Linby crash bar. Doubles as road pegs and lets lots of air in. We live in So Cal. and really don't have a need for the lowers, but can't convince wife to take hers off, she likes the way the look
