freewheeler seats

I have a Mustang seat with the rider backrest. I also have the floorboard extenders from DK Customs which I highly recommend.

I am 5'8", long legs.

John, go to your dealer

They have a seating area you can try many options if you want to stay with a HD seat

Any Touring seat will fit

I am running a Road King seat now it is way better than a stock FLRT seat

Not liking the seat in my freewheeler, just wondering what you guys recommend, I'm 5'10

thanks

I'm 6' and found the HD sundowner to be much more comfortable than the stock on long rides and it gives your passenger a whole lot more comfort. I've done many 300 to 400 miles days on the sundowner with no problem but I do use my highway pegs about 90% of the time I'm riding. The seat does add just a bit more height, and it looks a bit more 'bulky' on the freewheeler (especially the rear ) but the stock seat was built for an overall look versus comfort. Trying them out at an HD dealer is well worth it but be sure you pay attention to your arm stretch as well as your body position... cushy isn't the whole story. I'm personally sold on Mustang seats but they just didn't have any that worked for me on my freewheeler.

Ride safe,

Ron

Like many have said. A lot of HD dealers will let you demo the seats for a few hours, which is enough to give you a good indication. Depending on your needs, the Sundowner seats come in models that move you back 2" or forward. If your order online from Boardtracker HD, they are around $290 & free shipping + no sales tax if your not in their state.

Freewheeler seats

Has anyone tried a Police Solo with the spring shock? I have one on my RK and it is terrific to soften harsh roads

I found a Road King seat I really liked, I was wondering if they would fit the FLRT ... did you have to do any modifications?

Back 2 inches, seat height close to stock;)

Well Jack, I had checked with Saddlemen & they are developing a FW seat, but I didn't wait.

I got the Sundowner Tallboy seat & it is perfect for me. I did not like how the stock seat pushed me forward & I'm not tall at 5'9". The Tallboy Sundowner moves me back 2" & it's just what I needed.

The passenger section has a much better shape. I got it locally, vise using Boardtracker, as my dealer gave me a 10% military discount & if you spent $300 or more today, you got a 30 second trip in a money machine. I thought this would be a joke, but I grabbed $92.ThumbUp.

I was thrilled & the final seat price was $245. I even got free lunch & a great 60 mile ride in sunny 82° weather. What a great day, life is good.

Just an update on the Sundowner Tallboy seat.

I got another 60 miles in this beautiful Sunday and it's fantastic for me. Nice flat driver portion that does not cant you forward toward the tank & I love it.

If I remember, I will post some pics.

2015 freewheeler

I bought in the spring a 2015 freewheeler...

not happy with the stock seat..looking for something that will be comfortable on a 300 mile ride..

I saw the mustang seats but they seem pricey..

Here is a pic of the HD Sundowner Tallboy seat on my 2017 Freewheeler. I am really liking it. A nice flat wide seating area for the rider & passenger. It has a small HD Bar & Shield emblem up by the tank. A true touch of class.:)

Tri-Glide Seat

I bought an aftermarket Tr-Glide / Ultra classic seat off Ebay - The only problem I had mounting it on my FreeWheeler was that it requires a much longer rear mount screw - The arch at the rear of the seat also leaves a half moon gap - I covered this with a flap of vinyl added to the backrest pad - Keep in mind the rear passenger area is 15" wide so Mama will be very happy now.

It also allows more room for my " Peeps " because the front is tapered and softer - Peeps need to be happy too !
