I like to know how many of you have bought the extended warranty and feel it is worth buying?
I am thinking about buying it but am not sure at this point.
I am waiting for the part to come in for the control panel for radio, cb, intercom, etc.
I was told that the part alone costs roughly $500.00.
My "cb button" does not pop back out like all the other buttons do, so the Honda shop ordered one for me.
I was told that Honda wants these amounts to extend the warranty
24 months = $580.00
36 months = $690.00
48 months = 800.00

Get it. Every extended warranty I ever owned has paid for itself (granted all on Harley's). The piece of mind is worth it.Especially if you do alot of miles.

TRUCKER go to hondadirects web site,I think they are lots cheaper for the same policiys.
Some thing you need to know since your bike has been triked honda will not warrent a lot of things, especaly the engine and drive train.

Good points J.P. I forgot Honda doesn't like trikes. On my Harley's, the last one that had Engine/Tranny problems was a '91. Last bike had things like radio that cost alot though. I purchased the 5 yr. extension warranty. Giving me a total of 7 yrs./unlimited miles. Seeing as my Tri-Glide is 1 yr. 5 months old and going in for 30k service next week, it is gold for me.

Just remember that an insurance company's main goal is to collect premiums and avoid payment. Before plunking down the $$, read the policy very carefully - in its entirety - being certain not to miss the exclusions. If necessary, get a magnifying glass for the fine print wherein lurk the potholes.

Bought mine from GL1800's riders Direct line parts they had a sale for $499 for a 4 yr extension. I called Honda to see if they had any reservations on warranty on a triked Goldwing. Honda informed me they would cover everything with the exception of the trike kit. In my humble opinion I'd go with the Honda warranty. I've had the insurance policies and they're not good. So far I haven't needed any warranty work done so I'll update my experience in 7 yrs.

I'm not as experienced as some of these folks, but after owning 8 Wings and 7 Harleys in the last 23 yrs, often times with both brands at the same time I can attest to this:::

Never once needed any kind of warranty with my Wings, but needed one for sure with 4 of my 7 Harleys.

If you decide to buy, read the exclusions carefully. Don't depend on what folks tell you, read the fine print. The devil is always in the details
