extended warranty prices

I think every dealer will quote a different price. It's not like something in a catalog - it's whatever they think they can get for it. I know 2 dealers in this area are way apart for the same coverage.

You do know it's really only 3 years of coverage.

Yes, I know it is only 3 years. I think it is still a good deal. Its only 475 each year for 3 years with wheel and tire. If I use it once or twice in three years it will pay for it self. Thanks and have a great day. :pepper:

Looking at the forum. Why do you say 3 yrs and not 5. Do they really only offer 3Yrs. Looks like you could get more?

Something to keep in mind, Dealers can sell 3rd party warranties. Cost considerably less, but are a huge pain in the ass. Dealer charges you, you put in a claim with the insurer. Factory extended warranty works a lot better.

The extended warranty you get from the Harley dealer isn't from Harley, Harley used an out side concern to administer the extended warranty. It is issued by and administered by Continental Causality Company. When you have a claim the dealer contacts Continental who gives them the go ahead for the repair and cut a check to the servicing dealer. The only thing you need to do is give them the $50 co-pay.

You can even get an extended warranty AFTER the original 7 year warranty. I did that on my 03 Ultra -which I called "The Prince of Darkness" because of all the electrical problems that it had.

Bought an additional, true, 5 year plan.

Extended warranties are like owning a gun. Not necessary, but you're glad you have it if you need it.

I contacted Kutter HD. Found I have only one more day to decide.
ANY PROBLEMS out there with purchasing from them??

re: my earlier question, I didn't realize the 3 yr contract ( for instance) included your original 2 yrs. So I gues 5yrs is the way to go....at least.

I know. I never understood the first 2 year thing myself - sure isn't truth in advertising is it.
After all it's called an EXTENDED warranty, not Present/Extended warranty. :gah:

Exactly, but what do we expect from a company that won't post horsepower:Shrug:

Print out that flyer and take it in to your local dealer to see if they will match/beat it. Mine did.

At my dealer.....they are "Discussing" it :qpnmt:

Harley is one great marketing machine. What kind of company could take a bike remove some of the parts and sell it for more money. I used to tease some of the street glide riders about that. Harley took an Electraglide Classic, removed the tour-pak, the passing lamps and installed lower rear shocks and sold it for a touch over $1,000 more than the Electraglide Classic.

i was told that before the ew ran out, as long as i had less than 70,000 miles (i think it was 70,000 miles) i could buy another 5 years of ew... if memory serves me correct... jim ThumbUp
