Extended Warantee

I just checked on the price of extending the warrantee on my 2015 FreeWheeler. Quote was $1574 for one year. I decided to pass since I no longer ride as much and the trike is stock. YMMV.

Check around, I got a two year for less than that. Plus if I don't have to use it and can apply for a refund or renewal no cost. Theres deals to be made out there, shop around.

Heck, my '10 TG extended was around $1800 for 5 years over factory. Still good until next June. Gotten my money back many times over. That's 7 yrs/unlimited miles total for those counting. At 103,000 miles right now. Engine rebuilt by HD at 86k.

The dealer who sold me my 1990 FLHTC tossed in the 5 year warrantee for free making it a real bargain, especially since I put over 50,000 miles on it in the first year. A Dealer found that it had porous cases that HD replaced just short of 100,000 miles. That included most of the bearings so I paid to replace the rest (rod bearings) and got essentially a new bottom end.

Then a rear exhaust guide cracked while stuck in traffic in Arizona heat after a long highway run. A different dealer screwed that up so badly that I ended up reboring to .10 over, replacing the rear head and lapping the valves in the other head. I paid for the pistons & rings and HD paid for the rest.

I didn't even get home from that one when the shifter return spring broke. That required them to disassemble the transmission at HD's expense so, while there I had them replace any bearings and synchro's that showed wear.

Last but not least, they replaced the belt and sprockets so I had essentially a new drive train after 100,000 miles! Nobody can bitch about that.

But in my dotage I don't ride 50,000 miles/year or even half that any more. My 2 year old Free has under 15,000 miles on it. Nor do I venture far from home. So ......

2023 is the end of my ESP rolled into the price of the trike
